Competition Rules
BASIC REGULATION
These regulations are intended to provide a consistent set of rules for the competition. These rules are intended to facilitate fair play, equality and sportsmanship and to penalise those who seek to gain an unfair advantage.
- TRIATHLON
- This is an endurance event that combines three sports modalities: swimming, cycling and running, with transitions between each one. Participation is only allowed in the individual category. The order is as indicated and the stopwatch does not stop from the moment of the start until the participant reaches the finish line.
- MODALITIES
- SPRINT: 750 mts Swimming / 20 kms Cycling / 5 kms Running
- OLYMPIC: 1500 mts Swimming / 40 kms Cycling / 10 kms Running
- HALF: 1900 mts Swimming / 80 to 90 kms Cycling / 20 to 21 kms Running
- SHORT: 750 mts Swimming / 50 to 80 kms Cycling / 10 kms Running (Available at some venues)
- AQUABIKE: 1900 mts Swimming / 80 to 90 kms Cycling.
- ACCEPTANCE
- The rules of the competition are those contained in these regulations. By registering for any of the 100x100 Half events, the athlete declares that he/she has read, understood and fully accepts these rules.
- EXCEPTIONS
- Competition rules may vary at the various venues to accommodate certain requirements, local ordinances or race environment. The athlete's guide for each venue will specifically address any exceptions to the competition rules.
- MODIFICATIONS
- These rules were amended on 26/11/2024. The latest update includes general changes to the text, specifications on cancellations and changes to penalties.
- PLACES
- Each modality will be able to accommodate a maximum of 700 runners, without exceeding, in any case, 3000 participants per race. The organisers reserve the right to increase or reduce the number of places. No registrations will be accepted on the day of the race.
- REGISTRATION
- Participants must have correctly completed all steps and requirements of the registration. Registration will not be considered complete without the corresponding payment. Once the payment has been formalised, the registration fee will not be refunded, with the exceptions described in the CANCELLATIONS section. False documentation of the data entered in the registration form will result in their removal from the race database, with no right to a refund. The registration fee includes: participation fee, taxes, runner's bag, refreshments, race bibs, chip timing system, instant rankings, cloakroom service, finisher's medal, physiotherapy service, medical cover during the event and accident insurance. The registration fee does not include accommodation or travel expenses that the athlete may incur by taking part in the race.
- CANCELLATIONS
- The administration fees include the option to cancel the registration and a 100% refund of the registration fee for any reason as long as the cancellation is made at least 30 calendar days before 00:00 hours before the date of the race. At the time of registration, there is the option to extend the cancellation period up to 10 calendar days before 00:00 hours of the date of the race with an added cost and the refund of 75% of the registration fee. This extension option can only be contracted at the time of registration. After the deadline, no refund of the registration fee will be possible. The administration fees and the cost of the extension are not refundable under any circumstances. The organisation is not responsible for any accommodation or travel expenses incurred by the athlete as a result of taking part in the event and, therefore, will not be assumed by the organisation under any circumstances. The management and processing of the cancellation of the registration must be carried out from the participant's personal space using the form provided for this purpose. Refunds will be made automatically, taking into account the criteria described above. Refunds will be made in the same form of payment that was used to formalise the registration.
- CHANGE OF HEADQUARTERS
- The management fees include the option of changing the venue, provided that this takes place within the current year. The change can be made at least 7 calendar days before 00:00 hours before the date of the race in which the participant is registered, from the athlete's personal space on the website. There is no maximum number of changes of venue during the current year. No change of venue is allowed for successive years. If, after the end of the last race of the current year, the participant still has pending registrations, it will be considered that he/she renounces to them. Any request after the deadline described above will be rejected.
- The change of venue cancels the cancellation option. Once the change of venue has been made, the registration cannot be cancelled under any circumstances, nor will the extension of the cancellation period be valid, in the event that it has been contracted.
- CHANGE OF PARTICIPANT
- The management fees include the option to change the holder or participant. The change must be notified at least 72 hours before the start, either through the contact form on the website or by sending an email to info@100x100half.com. Any change of participant not communicated within the established deadline will result in the disqualification of the athlete (DQ). Any request after the deadline will be rejected.
- The change of participant cancels the cancellation option. Once the change of participant has been made, the registration cannot be cancelled under any circumstances, nor will the extension of the cancellation period be valid, in the event that it has been contracted.
- CHANGE OF MODALITY
- The management fees include the option of modality change. The change of modality is allowed within the venue. The change can be made from the athlete's personal space on the website.
- The change of modality does not allow the partial refund of the amount. If the chosen modality has an increase in the price, this must be paid. If the participant decides to change modality at the same time as the start, he/she will be disqualified (DQ). Any request after the deadline described above will be rejected.

- Trophies will be awarded to the 5 best of each gender in the absolute category and to the best of each gender in the age groups.
- MODIFICATION
- The race management has the power to make the necessary modifications to ensure the safety of the participants at all times. The suspension of any of the segments due to weather conditions does not imply the suspension of the race. In the event of adverse sea conditions, the race management may modify or cancel the swim segment before the start of the race. The triathlon will be run with the application of PLAN B. In case of adverse conditions on the cycling segment, the race direction may modify or cancel the section or part of it before the start. The triathlon will be run as an aquathlon. The organisers reserve the right to modify or cancel any of the segments for safety reasons in accordance with the provisions of Annex II of the General Traffic Regulations with regard to the traffic-related powers of the authorities (Police of the Generalitat-Mossosos d'Esquadra).
- In the case of the application of PLAN B or with the cancellation of one of the segments, the triathlon would be considered partially contested for all purposes. (A fully contested triathlon is one in which all three segments are completed).
- INTERRUPTION
- In the event of an unscheduled interruption of an individual competition after the start:
- Athletes who have completed at least two segments will be scored according to the position as indicated by the last available recorded data.
- Athletes who have not completed at least two segments shall appear in the results list as DNF (Did No Finish).
- If all athletes are stopped before the end of the second segment, the competition shall be restarted, if possible. Otherwise, no results shall be recorded.
- If the course is laid out in laps, the segment where the interruption occurs shall be considered as contested if the first rider (leader) has passed 50% of the total distance of the segment. If the interruption occurs and the 50% threshold has not been exceeded, the competition shall be restarted as soon as possible.
- As a general rule, the triathlon shall be considered as partially contested for all purposes if a minimum of two of the three categories, whatever they may be, can be held.
- In the event of an unscheduled interruption of an individual competition after the start:
- CANCELLATION
- In the case of cancellation of the entire competition or any of the modalities of a venue for reasons attributable to the organisation, the amounts of the registrations and the purchases of material made will be refunded, except for the management costs, the contracted extensions and subtracting the cancellation fee (3 €). If the cancellation is due to causes beyond the control of the organisation, no refund of registration fees will be made. These are understood as causes beyond the organisation's control:
- Meteorological phenomena: Adverse weather conditions such as storms, strong winds, floods, intense snowfalls or other extreme meteorological events that may compromise the safety of the participants or the viability of the race.
- Force majeure: Unforeseeable and unavoidable events beyond the control of the organisation, such as natural disasters (earthquakes, fires, volcanic eruptions), health emergencies, armed conflicts or other situations that make it impossible to carry out the competition.
- Sudden changes in the decisions of public administrations: Abrupt changes in rules, regulations or decisions issued by governmental authorities that affect or prevent the execution of the planned route. This includes restrictions on the use of public spaces, road closures, or any other measure that significantly alters the planning and development of the race.
- Any other circumstances: Additional situations that, due to their nature or impact, make it impossible to hold the race. This may include security emergencies, public health incidents, critical infrastructure failures, or any other factor that substantially interferes with the organisation and execution of the event.
- In such a case, the event may be replaced by another venue within the same year. If the cancellation or suspension occurs in the last race of the year, the change of venue is extended until the first competition of the following year. The cancellation of two segments in any of the venues would mean the cancellation of the whole competition. The minimum requirement for any of the modalities to be held in any of the venues is the completion of two segments.
- Modification of the swimming segment. If the length of the swimming segment is modified due to meteorological phenomena (waves, temperature, visibility...), the segment will be considered valid for all purposes.
- Cancellation of the swimming segment. If the swimming segment has to be cancelled for safety reasons (waves, temperature, visibility, external risks...), the triathlon will be contested in PLAN B format. PLAN B replaces the swimming segment with the running segment, dividing in half the section to be contested in normal conditions. In other words, in the case of the SPRINT format, the sections would be as follows: RUN (2.5 km) BIKE (20 km) RUN (2.5 km). In the case of the OLYMPIC modality, the sections would be RUN (5 km) BIKE (40 km) RUN (5 km) and in the case of the HALF modality they would be RUN (10 km) BIKE (90 km) RUN (10 km). In the AQUABIKE modality, the competition will be cancelled (see summary table).
- Modification of the cycling segment. If the length of the cycling segment is modified for safety reasons (visibility, flooding, accident...), the section will be considered valid for all purposes.
- Cancellation of the cycling segment. If the cycling segment has to be cancelled for safety reasons (visibility, flooding, accident...), the triathlon will be contested in aquathlon mode starting from the running segment. The running distances will be halved and the swimming will be run as normal. In the AQUABIKE modality, the competition will be cancelled (See summary table).
(See summary table) - Modification of the running segment. If the length of the footrace segment is modified for safety reasons, the section will be considered valid for all purposes.
Cancellation of the running segment. If the running segment has to be cancelled for safety reasons, the triathlon will be run in aquabike mode with the swimming segment starting normally. (See summary table).
- As a general rule, the triathlon will be considered partially contested for all purposes if a minimum of 2 of the 3 modalities can be held, be it any of them or if PLAN B is applied. In any of the above situations, the venue will be scored at 66% for the computation of the different leagues.

If the cancellation is due to causes beyond the control of the organisation, no refund of registration fees will be made. These are understood as causes beyond the organisation's control:
- COMPLAINTS
- In all circumstances, participants release the organisation from any claim or demand for accidents or illnesses that they may suffer or worsen during the event, whether due to actions or omissions. This includes personal injury or material damage and, without limitation, possible theft, robbery or damage/loss of material that may occur due to their own actions, those of other participants or even third parties during the development of the activity.
- The organisation declines all responsibility for any physical, moral and/or material harm or damage that may be suffered by participants and/or spectators during the event.
- COMPETITIONS 2025
- The purpose of the 2025 100x100 Half competitions is to make a ranking of athletes and clubs in the triathlon competition. The ranking includes the disciplines of the different triathlon venues, fully and partially contested. The partially contested modalities will score the proportional part of the contested segments. In the case of the suspension of one of the segments and the running of the other two segments, or in the application of PLAN B, the venue will be scored at 66% (Triathlon partially run). The 2025 competitions are:
- INDIVIDUAL LEAGUE in each modality.
- CLUBS LEAGUE
- SPRINT CUP
- GRAN PRIX PARTICIPATION
- The purpose of the 2025 100x100 Half competitions is to make a ranking of athletes and clubs in the triathlon competition. The ranking includes the disciplines of the different triathlon venues, fully and partially contested. The partially contested modalities will score the proportional part of the contested segments. In the case of the suspension of one of the segments and the running of the other two segments, or in the application of PLAN B, the venue will be scored at 66% (Triathlon partially run). The 2025 competitions are:
- INDIVIDUAL LEAGUE
- The INDIVIDUAL LEAGUE is a competition that takes place in each of the different types of events (Sprint, Olympic, Aquabike and Half) in all the venues. The winner is the athlete who obtains the highest score at the end of the league. A minimum of three qualifying events is established to validate the league. Below 3 qualifying events, the league will be considered invalid or cancelled.
- PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: The league is open to all athletes competing in each of the venues. There is a minimum participation in two venues of the same modality. The same athlete may compete in the league in two different modalities.
- SCORING SYSTEM: The scoring system for the individual league is as follows: 100 points are awarded to the participant who completes the race in the shortest time. The successive scores in order to establish a ranking are calculated according to the formula: POINTS = (Time of the best athlete / Time of the athlete) x100. The scores are calculated as soon as the participant crosses the finish line. These scores can be consulted on the race website. All the venues can be scored and each participant can discard one of them, that is to say, only the best scores of each venue will be taken into account, subtracting the worst result in the total of points at the end of the league.
- INDIVIDUAL LEAGUE AWARDS: The individual league will award the league winner's trophy to the athlete who has obtained the best score at the end of the league. Prizes will be awarded to the top five in each category and the top three in each age group, both male and female. The prizes will be awarded in person at the end-of-season gala on 21 November at 8 p.m. at INEFC Barcelona. The awarded athletes must wear the uniform of the club for which they have competed, being a sine qua non condition that they collect the prize in person. Failure to attend the trophy ceremony means that the winner waives the award for all purposes. To delegate the collection of the prize to a third person, the prize-winner must give at least seven calendar days' notice via the contact form on the website or by sending an email to info@100x100half.com.
- CLUBS LEAGUE
- The CLUB LEAGUE is a competition that takes place in all the venues, and combines the different modalities. Scores are awarded at each venue and the club with the highest score at the end of the league is proclaimed the winner. A minimum of three qualifying events is established to validate the league. Below three qualifying events, the league will be considered invalid or cancelled.
In each of the venues, a trophy will be awarded to the best male and female club in the qualifying event. - The 2025 club league distributes the scores as follows:
- EMPURIABRAVA: Olympic (100 points)
- BERGA: Half (100 points)
- VENDRELL: Olympic (100 points)
- PLATJA D'ARO: Olympic (100 points)
- ESTARTIT: Sprint (100 points)
- AMETLLA: Half (100 points)
- PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: The league is open to all clubs or teams that have a valid CIF or NIF at the time the league ends (last qualifying event). The same club may compete with several teams (Name Team A, Name Team B, ...). No change of club is allowed once the competition has started. Athletes participating in the league must be previously registered by the club in the form provided for this purpose. Athletes participating in the league not previously registered will be excluded from the scores, being able to participate, but not adding up the points obtained for the club they represent. Once the competition has started, each club will have the option to add a maximum of two athletes. In the event that an athlete decides to change club once the league has started, he/she will be considered as INDEPENDENT in the rest of the club league competitions. In order to score in the league, a minimum participation of four male athletes or three female athletes belonging to the club is essential. The presence of the same athletes in the different venues during the league is not necessary. There is no upper limit for participants from the same club. The organisation of the club league is responsible for the management of the data of the participants and may request, at any time during the competition, the supporting documents corresponding to the affiliations of the participants to the clubs.
- SCORING SYSTEM: The scoring system for clubs is as follows: 100 points are awarded to the club whose sum of times of the first four finishers in the race is lower. In the case of the women, the times of the three best classified women will be added together. The successive scores in order to establish a ranking are calculated according to the formula: POINTS = (Sum of times of the best club / Sum of times of the club) x 100. The scores are calculated at the moment when the last participant of the club to score crosses the finish line. These scores can be consulted on the race website. In the event of a tie on points at the end of the league, a tie-breaker will be forced by awarding an extra point to the club with the highest participation throughout the league competition. If the tie persists, the club with the best partial score in the third event of the championship will be proclaimed the winner. All venues are scored, and each club can be absent in one of them, i.e. only the best scores will be taken into account, thus discarding the worst result in the total points at the end of the league.
- CLUBS LEAGUE AWARDS: The 100x100 Club League will award €15,000 in cash prizes to the top seven clubs in both the men's and women's leagues. The prizes will be distributed as follows:
- 3000 € for the club with the highest score.
- 2000 € to the club with the second highest score.
- 1000 € to the club with the third best score.
- 600 € to the club with the fourth best score.
- 400 € to the club with the fifth best score.
- 300 € to the club with the sixth best score.
- 200 € to the club with the seventh best score.
- The awards will be presented in person at the end-of-season gala on 21 November at 20h at INEFC Barcelona. In the case of clubs, the prize must be collected by the club's participants in the league, duly uniformed, accompanied by the club's legal representative, it being a sine qua non condition that the prize be collected in person. Failure to attend the trophy ceremony means that the awarded club renounces the prize for all purposes.
- SPRINT CUP
- The SPRINT CUP is a competition that is played in a classification format by the sum of points obtained by each club at the end of the race, and is held in all the venues, in the SPRINT modality. A minimum of three qualifying races is established to validate the league. If there are less than three qualifying events, the league will be considered invalid or cancelled.
- PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: The SPRINT 2024 club league allows a maximum of twenty men's and fifteen women's clubs to participate. These clubs must be in possession of a valid CIF or NIF. No change of club is allowed once the competition has started. The athlete will be considered as belonging to the club with which he/she first registers in the SPRINT league. In case an athlete decides to change club once the league has started, he/she will be considered as INDEPENDENT in the rest of the SPRINT league competitions. It is not necessary for the same athletes to participate in the different venues during the SPRINT league. The minimum number of participants per club is two athletes and there is no maximum limit for participants from the same club. The organisation of the club league is responsible for the management of the participants' data and may request, at any time during the competition, the corresponding proof of the participants' affiliations to the clubs.
- SCORING SYSTEM: The scoring system for the SPRINT league is as follows: Points are awarded according to the attached table to participants belonging to clubs according to their finishing position in the overall ranking of each gender. All independent or non-club participants will be excluded from the SPRINT club league scores and will not be awarded points according to their finishing position.
- E.g. 1st Male: Antonio "Independent" (no points).
- E.g. 2nd Male Classified: Juan "Club SuperTriatletas" (199 points).
- Each club will receive a final score at each venue, based on the number and position of its members finishing. Points will be awarded to the five best athletes of each club in the men's category and to the three best athletes of each club in the women's category.
In case of a tie on points at the end of the league, a tie-breaker will be forced by awarding an extra point. In the event of a tie in the final classification, an extra point will be awarded to the club with the best score in the last event of the league. If the tie persists, the club with the best partial score in the third event of the championship will be proclaimed the winner. All the venues can be scored, and each club may be absent in one of them, that is to say, only the best scores of each venue will be taken into account, subtracting the worst result in the total points at the end of the league. -

It is a sine qua non condition that the prize must be collected in person. Failure to attend the trophy ceremony means that the awarded club renounces the prize for all purposes.
- GRAN PRIX PARTICIPATION
- The GRAN PRIX PARTICIPATION is a season-long competition that counts the number of finished participants (crossing the finish line) from each club, irrespective of the gender of the participants. The club with the highest number of finishers at the end of the season is proclaimed the winner.
- PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements for participation in the Club Participation League are that athletes belong to a club and that they cross the finish line.
- SCORING SYSTEM: Each athlete reaching the finish line counts as one unit. At the end of the season, the club with the highest number of units in the ranking will be proclaimed the winner.
- AWARDS: The prize for the club with the highest score will consist of five free registrations for the following season, in any of the available modalities. The prizes will be awarded in person at the end-of-season gala on 21 November at 8 p.m. at INEFC Barcelona. SWIMMING
- CHIP
- The participant must wear the chip at ankle level and it must not be covered by the neoprene, in case the participant decides to wear it (the neoprene). The chip and the chip holder are provided by the organisation and the participant will find them in his reserved space in the box. Losing the chip means not being classified in the time table.
- IDENTIFICATION
- It is compulsory to wear the organisation's swimming cap.
- NEOPRENE
- The use of neoprene is compulsory in water temperatures below 16ºC. In higher temperatures, the use of neoprene is optional.
- BOXES
- The participant must leave all the material necessary for the competition in the box provided for this purpose. Any breach of this rule will be cause for sanction.
- EQUIPMENT
- The use of swimming goggles is recommended. The use of swimming aids such as fins, paddles, diving equipment, socks, gloves, flotation devices, as well as any kind of external aids is prohibited. The use of cycling equipment underneath the wetsuit is permitted.
- CHECK-IN
- Before accessing the start, the participant must have passed through the transition area to check-in. The opening hours of the pits are described in the PROGRAMME section of the race website.
- START
- The start shall be made from shore on an acoustic signal. Depending on the needs of the modality, the start may be in the form of boxes. The purpose of these boxes is to order the start according to the ranking obtained by each participant during their participation in 100x100 Half circuit events. The calculation that establishes the starting box is as follows: Arithmetic mean of the participant's position in the last five competitions at the most (regardless of the modality or gender) in the last two years. At the time of registration, each athlete must declare his/her swimming pace, according to which he/she will be assigned to the corresponding starting box. This function will be under the supervision of the organisation as long as the athlete does not have a previous ranking calculated according to his/her previous participation. In the case of an athlete with a national or international ranking, he/she must prove it by sending documentation by e-mail to info@100x100half.com if he/she wishes to start from the first box.
- RECORRIDO
- All swimmers must follow the marked course. Failure to follow the course or missing a buoy or marker will be grounds for disqualification.
